WORLDBEX 2017 is gearing for its boldest installment. From 156 booths in PICC during its inception in 1996 to this year’s 1,000 booths from 16 countries occupying 60,000 sqm of exhibition space, the expo is setting the bar high once again for the trade and exposition industry, creating opportunities for all in the construction and design industry, allowing them new information, technologies and innovations both locally and globally.

To officially open its doors, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the World Trade Center Metro Manila with simultaneous ceremonies at the SMX Convention Center and PTTC.

Among those who graced the affair were Atty. Ruth Castelo, Trade Undersecretary for the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines; DPWH Secretary Mark Villar; Senate Secretary Atty. Lutgardo Barbo representing the office of Senate President Koko Pimentel, along with other VIPs, members of the diplomatic corps and key executives of the event organizer, Worldbex Services International.

“We are proud to be part of this exhibition, which highlights all the prominent builders and members of the industry,” said president of the Federation of Electrical and Electronics Suppliers and Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (PESA) Hero Yu.

Attendees are encouraged to visit the WORLDBEX galleries and pavilions, which include the Interior Designers Gallery, the Architects Gallery (an exhibit of scale models representing projects of the future as envisioned by top architects), Furniture Gallery and the International Pavilions.

They may also take advantage of the WORLDBEX Seminars, free business matching services and the WORLDBEX Minicon—a first of its kind, three-day conference partnered with various industry associations by experts, for experts.

There will also be a free conference entitled Continuing Professional Education Points on Personality Development featuring John Robert Power’s Rosky Balahadia Hilado, plus Feng Shui by Dr. Andy Tan in partnership with PIID.

Other highlights include the WORLDBEX Lab, an exhibit area that features the latest and most state-of-the-art product innovations and the DELAXX Competition.

Since 2001, the Interior Designers Gallery at WORLDBEX remains to be one of the most anticipated and longest running highlights of the five-day trade expo. Indeed, WORLDBEX owes its unprecedented design edge to the unwavering support of the Philippine Institute of Interior Design (PIID) and the ingenuity of its interior designers.

For this year’s installment, WORLDBEX and PIID once again demonstrate their prolific partnership with this year’s Interior Designers Gallery.

As 2017 marks the year of the Fire Rooster, which is said to herald a golden year for building and renovation, a unique and auspicious presentation await industry professionals and design enthusiasts alike.

Focusing on the value of Feng Shui in designing spaces, taking center stage at this year’s Interior Designers Gallery are eight lucky vignettes from the Icons of Interior Design—each of which will carry a Feng Shui tip as conceptualized by renowned interior designers including IDr. Johnny Hubilla, IDr. Chat Fores, IDr. Michael Pizarro, IDr. Leo Almeria, IDr./Ar. Rogelio Caringal, and IDr. Cynthia and Ivy Almario.

My booth is jointly created with Pido Villanueva of Ambiance by Pido. It showcases a pretty indoor garden set-up with lots of rabbits being my animal sign.

Apart from this presentation, select members from PIID will also showcase special vignettes that embody the theme of “Home Away from Home”. Among the participating interior designers are IDr. Joy Ejercito and IDr. Charisse Gail Pantiling.

WORLDBEX 2017 is open until March 19 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more info, contact (02) 6569239 or go to www.worldbex.com. Wilcon Depot is a proud sponsor of this huge expo for contractors and homebuilders to enjoy.
